Become a League Cycling Instructor – Upcoming Seminars in Columbus and Virginia!


At DevahD Cycling, we believe that education, empowerment, and advocacy are the cornerstones of building a vibrant and safe cycling community. That’s why we’re excited to announce two upcoming League Cycling Instructor (LCI) certification seminars – one in Columbus, Ohio and the other in Virginia!

These seminars are perfect for passionate cyclists, advocates, educators, and community leaders who want to take their cycling knowledge to the next level and become certified instructors.


These seminars will be lead by me, Diana DevahD Hildebrand a Certified League Cycling Coach – which is group of selected individuals trained to lead LCI seminars across the country. I am beyond excited to usher in a new class of LCIs and support them in becoming advocates for joy, safety, and inclusion on two wheels.


What is a League Cycling Instructor?

A League Cycling Instructor (LCI) is certified through the League of American Bicyclists, a national leader in bicycle advocacy and education. LCIs are trained to teach smart cycling skills to riders of all ages and abilities, from beginners to seasoned commuters. They play a critical role in spreading bike safety knowledge and empowering others to ride confidently and respectfully in traffic.


Why Become an LCI?

Becoming an LCI means joining a nationwide network of dedicated cycling educators who are making streets safer and more welcoming for everyone. As an LCI, you’ll be able to:

  • Lead safe cycling classes and clinics

  • Advocate for better bike infrastructure and policies

  • Empower your community through hands-on education

  • Inspire new riders and support experienced ones


What’s Required?

To become a League Cycling Instructor, you must:

  1. Complete the Smart Cycling course (online and in-person components).

  2. Register for and attend a League Cycling Instructor Seminar, a 3-day intensive training weekend led by a League Cycling Coach.

  3. Pass a written exam and demonstrate effective teaching and riding skills during the seminar.
